"Building an n8n workflow" and "running n8n in production" are not the same thing. The difference lies in four key areas we address from the design phase.

Self-hosted & sovereign

n8n runs on your infrastructure (OVH, Scaleway, private cloud). Data and credentials do not pass through a third-party SaaS, which is essential when handling customer data or sensitive documents.

Versioned like code

Workflows don’t just live in the visual editor: they’re exported, versioned in Git, and deployed reproducibly. We review changes, roll back, and test in staging before production.

Monitored in production

Logs, monitoring, alerting. If execution fails, the system retries and then alerts with a direct link to the incident. An automation that fails silently costs more than no automation at all.

Reversibility

No lock-in: n8n is open source, workflows and data belong to you. We transfer operations to your team with documentation and training whenever you’re ready.

Cloud or self-hosted,
how do we choose?

n8n is available as a managed Cloud version or self-hosted. The choice hinges on one criterion: can your data and credentials transit through a third-party service, or must they remain within an infrastructure you control?

n8n self-hosted

OVH / Scaleway

Our default recommendation. n8n runs on your infrastructure: credentials, data, and documents never leave your perimeter. Updates, monitoring, and backups are managed by Scroll or handed over to your team.

Recommended when

Sensitive client data or documents, sovereignty requirements, high execution volume, or need for custom connectors.

n8n Cloud

Managed

n8n’s managed version: no ops to handle, automatic updates, and quick setup. Executions run on n8n’s infrastructure, which is acceptable when data is not sensitive.

Recommended when

No sovereignty constraints, no ops team, prototyping, or moderate volume with non-sensitive data.

Yes. We audit your current scenarios, identify what’s worth migrating to self-hosted n8n (sovereignty, per-execution cost, complex logic), and rebuild the workflows with explicit, versioned business logic.

The calculation is based on the human time saved and the risk of error avoided, not just volume. A repetitive task taking a few minutes, repeated dozens of times a day, is often worthwhile. We assess ROI before development—sometimes the answer is “not yet.”

When required, yes. We prioritize Mistral, a French model, and can host open-source models (Llama, Mistral) on sovereign GPUs. Sensitive data then never transits through any American service.

Scroll can handle operations (monitoring, updates, evolutions) through a support contract, or transfer responsibility to your team with documentation and training. The workflows and data belong to you from the start.

Yes, it’s one of its strengths. We integrate LLM models (Mistral, OpenAI, Claude), OCR, embeddings, and RAG directly into workflows: email qualification, document extraction, response generation. AI becomes a step in the process, not a separate project.

Each workflow is designed with a safety net: automatic retry, idempotency to prevent duplicates, then an alert to the administrator with a direct link to the incident if the failure persists. A silent failing automation is worse than no automation at all.
